The Plunge

Well here it is...my own personal blog. I've always been somewhat intimidated by blogging. I'm not a writer, I don't know a ton about any one topic, I don't own a business, and I don't experience things on a daily basis that have to be told "right now". I do have two cute kids to write about, but I already have a blog about them, so I guess that's out too.

My inspiration to start blogging was my friend Laura. Her blog has over 1500 followers or something crazy like that. Her blog is amazing! I read it all the time now.
Don't worry...I'm not looking to get 1500 followers. My goal is a little more attainable... two... surely I can manage that!
You may be wondering why I'm even concerned about followers.
Well, I have always found that journaling is good for my well being. I'm serious! If I write my thoughts down I can usually process things better which really helps my stress level. I think David would attest to that. We can usually get through a fight much more quickly if I write things down instead of getting overwhelmed by my feelings and yelling out my frustration. Even with knowing this however, I don't write things down nearly enough. I haven't even owned a journal since elementary school. I hated messing up or misspelling words in my journal, so if that happened, I would rip out the page. You can imagine...my journals didn't last very long, and the ones that did were pretty thin. Hahaha
So here I am, "journaling" and able to use backspace and spell check...Problem soved! And as long as I have a few followers (I say a few because it would be nice to have two in addition to my own husband), then maybe it will serve as accountability, which will encourage me to write more, and therefore reduce some stress. That might be a slightly tall order for a blog...but it's a nice thought anyway.

So there you have it.
